Having won awards in its product designs, Italian company De Longhi has a reputation of solid quality and durability in all its products. With their headquarters based in Italy they manufacture unique Delonghi espresso machines in addition to other product lines (air conditioning, commercial industrial refrigeration, heating equipment, household laundry equipment, etc.).
Treviso, Italy has been the home and headquarters of De’ Longhi with their incorporation taking place in 19050. Starting off as a parts supplier they transformed into a portable heater manufacturer during the 1970s. They began distributing heaters within the United States in 1980 with a subsidiary created in the US in 1988. Much success came from their portable electric radiator for home use. This allowed Delonghi to create additional heater product lines in gas-fired, kerosene and fan heaters. Delonghi, through their research, developed the Plus Heat Multi System which used a combination of oil, electric and fan based heating.
Acquiring a multitude of companies in different home appliance markets catapulted their product offerings in less than a decade. 1986 marked their acquisition of Elba which manufactured free-standing ovens, stove tops and built-in ovens. That same year they acquired Radel which gave them insight into developing central heating systems based on of water-circulating heating. Ariagel and Vetralla were acquired in 1987 and 1989. Ariagel company’s background is in air conditioning while Vetrella was in vacuum cleaning / floor care.
In the 1980s Delonghi also extended its reach into several international markets outside of Italy within 20 years. Subsidiaries were established in the US, UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Russia, China, Belgium and Canada, etc. By the year 2000 Delonghi had 13 manufacturing plants, subsidiaries in over 30 countries and their sales channel extended into over 75 countries.
Simac Micromax was Delonghi’s next acquisition and this time it made way for their entry into the iron / ironing and food preparation market. The very same year launched their first line of Delonghi coffee makers. But what really boosted the company’s focus on developing kitchen products was the purchase of Kenwood Appliances (a UK based company) in 2001. The strength and international recognition of the Kenwood brand gave Delonghi a major boost in the small appliance market.
Delonghi Group has since then established itself as having many of the top DeLonghi espresso machines in the industry. The first fully automatic espresso machine was added to Delonghi’s product line in 2007. Those who love espresso can be confident with Delonghi espresso machines in their prize winning Italian design, durability, simplicity, competitive pricing and ability to produce authentic espresso flavor.
Some of Delonghi Espresso Machine lines include:
- Delonghi Caffe Nero
- Delonghi Magnifica 3300
- DeLonghi ESAM6600 Gran Dama Digital Super-Automatic Espresso Machine
