Best KFC Coleslaw Recipe

If you have found this post , if I was a betting person you are searching for the celebrated kfc cole slaw recipe and maybe other restaurant copycat recipes . More on that later . Firstly , I’d like to share with you my saga of locating it.

I’m not a huge cole slaw cheerer , but my grandfather. Wow. Let’s just say that is another story!

I think he must practically live on “The Colonel’s” slaw , he claims it to be the “best ever”. So naturally the family wanted to impress him (me and my husband love to cook) so we set out on a mission to re-create the KFC magic in our home .

After looking on the internet looking for the copycat restaurant recipe , we were very confused. We had found many different recipes, and had no idea which one was right ! Most of them claimed to be the correct one but somehow we knew my grandfather has a more discriminating taste.

So we chose the 2 that seemed to be the best , and made the 2 of them. I tasted both of them , but like I said , I am not a large fan and really did not know if they really compared to Kentuckey Fried Chicken , although they really did taste quite differently against eachother .

When my grandfather took the first chomp , we held our breath, wait for him to say “wow, you got KFC cole slaw” and then for us to respond with “No! We cooked it ourselves!” but nope , grandpa placed his fork down and just said “this coleslaw is atrocious”!

Oops!

About 1 week after the embarrassing happening , I was talking with a co-worker about what happened and he told me about a resource I had never heard of before. Apparently there is a “secret” club of sorts that swaped copycat restaurant recipes back and forth. We checked it out and yes , there was the famous KFC cole slaw recipe.

So I sparked up the kitchen and called grandpa over, and you know what…he loved it! He said was just like the original . The best part of the episode is that we found an endless supply of the best recipes, and can now cook like the pros from home . How neat is that?
